Coaching for Performance

Coaching means different things to different people. There are coaches in athletics, life coaches and coaches within managerial roles. Regardless of the situation, a coach can take on several roles at one time, including: facilitator, mentor, motivator, instructor, assessor, planner, supporter, and so on. Yet performance coaching should be deemed effective only when the "coachee" demonstrates a positive change within the pre-defined area where a gap once existed. And research has shown that for any person to deliver performance coaching, he or she must possess the core abilities of great leadership, exceptional communication, strong interpersonal skills and the capacity for effective self-management.

The challenge most organizations face is the lack of time they can afford to spend on the development of their internal coaches. And in the absence of proper performance coaching skill sets, the managers often avoid the coaching role all together, which ultimately costs the organization in lost revenue, profit or people.

This coaching for performance program provides the framework for participants to evaluate and develop their own strengths and weaknesses in order to direct their own growth towards achieving performance coaching potential.

Throughout this program, the participants are empowered to develop their own coaching style while focusing on the core skills they need to help their teams and their organization reach their goals.
