Physical health is not just physical, but it is mental and spiritual. First off, being healthy requires you to develop the mental discipline of consistency. Just by reading these articles for the last 4 weeks has started you on a path of being consistent. See, it is mental darling, not just physical.

The other reason why it is not just physical is that our health is based on a very special thing, which is our existence as a human being and an acceptance of ourselves along with the respect that we need to honor ourselves.

Have you ever said that your life is too busy and you do not have the time to take care of your self? Pardon me. Did you just say that you do not have the time for the only thing that you will truly own in this life ...that being the body that you exist in?

Could there be anything more important to your existence than you?

So, the first thing we need to do to start on a healthier lifestyle is to accept who we are as a human being. The second is to acquire the knowledge of what we are and what we need to do to maintain ourselves. The third thing to do is to put the energy into respecting ourselves.

These are nice ideas but how does this work for the average person just trying to cope with the daily regimen. Well, step one is accepting who you are. Say to yourself that you want to tune up your machine and bring it in to balance and operate it at its best level. By saying this to yourself you are not making any false promises to yourself and it mentally sets you up to accepting who you are as well as accepting the journey that you and your machine are going to go on.

Knowledge. I have a very specific pathway that I teach to my clients and with time they have the ability to have full control of their path. I would like to take all the credit for this but I know that the more I learn the less I know. I have taught clients certain concepts but sometimes it is their experience in other activities that gives them the wisdom of what they are doing. I humbly suggest that you read and try everything. Until you do so, you just don't know what will work for you or what you might like.

You have the knowledge that you need to exercise because it forces all the systems in your body to operate at a higher efficiency level. You know that you have to become aware and have control of the fuel that you consume. This is vitally important because the ill effects of stored fuel is the number one health problem in the world. It is interesting that a hundred year ago, the problem was not having enough food and now the problem is having too much food.

Please stop the pendulum at the moderation line. You do this by respecting yourself and by eating healthy during the week. Exercise can be as simple as 20 minutes 5 times a week Monday to Friday. That is less than 2 hours a week, which will make the other 166 hours easy, enjoyable and simple.

My clients and I exercise and eat properly not so we can look like a fitness model but rather to enjoy life. After all, it is truly about enjoying life and you attain this through knowledge of who you are, training of what you have to do and respect for your self in doing the work that is required to maintain your machine that you will use for the rest of your life.

My favorite meal that I have when I have earned it by being good during the week is chicken wings, spinach salad and a low carb cold beer.

Enjoy life! Spend a little time on yourself, monitor what you eat and to quote my friend Sully "Happy Thursday".
